Hi, I’m Kerstain.

My path to this work is both personal and professional. I know what it means to live through loss —not just once, but across different seasons of life. I have experienced the deaths of loved ones, including my father and my 9-year-old son, as well as the kind of grief that comes with life changes, relationships, and the quiet ways loss can reshape who we are.

Grief is not something I came to understand only through education. It is something I have lived, sat with, and continue to carry and learn from over time. Alongside my personal experiences, I have pursued formal education and training in mental health and grief support.

My Education

Master of Science in Mental Health and Wellness

Emphasis in Grief and Bereavement, which I completed with a 4.0 GPA

Bachelor’s degrees in Psychology, Social and Criminal Justice

Graduating cum laude

Certified Grief Counselor (GC-C).

My work has also been shaped by supporting individuals and families through loss in both professional and community settings.

Healing Paths Wellness

I created Healing Paths Wellness to offer a space that feels different —one that is compassionate, grounded, and free of judgment or expectations.

I do not believe grief is something we “get over,” but something we learn to carry in new ways, at our own pace. In our work together, I bring both professional knowledge and lived understanding.

I will sit with you in your grief, without rushing you, without trying to fix what cannot be fixed, and without expecting you to be anything other than who you are in this moment.

You do not have to go through this alone.

It would be an honor to walk alongside you in your healing.

When grief feels heavy or confusing, taking even a small step toward help—like sending a message or attending one session—can begin to lighten the weight. You don’t have to have everything figured out; you just need to be willing to be seen exactly as you are.
